Its triple-butted alloy frame swings your rear wheel through 130mm of micro-tracking 3VO suspension, renowned for its trail-contouring ability that goes hand-in-hand with big-hit burliness. A 130mm Fox 34 fork easily handles the rough stuff up front, ensuring your trail-spec'd DT Swiss M1900 Spline wheels track right where you want them, ready and willing to dig deep, wrapped in Vittoria's Martello tubeless tires.
The entire trail opens to you when you've got the proven combo of a huge-range Shimano XT 12-speed drivetrain and XT Ice Tech brakes to ensure you have the leverage when you need it, the speed when you want it, and the power to reign it all in when the speed gets critical. And, the Portal will feel as familiar as walking out your front door thanks to a rider-tuned Race Face cockpit, and an instantly dialable stance, courtesy of your KS Rage dropper.
A dropper seatpost allows you to quickly lower and raise your seat to give you an ideal riding position. Dropping your seat creates a lower center of gravity for better control and maneuverability on steep descents, while raising it puts you at normal riding height for efficient pedaling.
Construction can include either hydraulic- or cable-actuated systems and the post’s travel can either be infinitely adjustable or stopped at set intervals, depending on the model.
Dropper seatposts come in standard lengths and diameters and vary by the amount of travel.
