Details
You knew when you planned the ride it would be a long day - a route stacked with grinding climbs and twisting descents, terrible roads with a good amount of who-knows-what-else thrown in. These rides aren't most people's idea of fun, but they sure are memorable, monumental, challenging. It’s why you keep going. You have another coffee and pull on your shoe covers to hold the weather at bay, it's going to clear out and warm up in a few hours...maybe. Grab your Avant and do a quick check before rolling into the morning mist. No other machine could better help you endure the hours of rough, exhausting conditions ahead. It's going to be a long day - and you relish it.
The Avant frame utilizes Endurance Geometry, born from years of analyzing how ergonomics can help you ride further. Unlike a racing geometry that is focused on aerodynamics, endurance ergonomics result in a bike that is easier to ride and reduces fatigue. Handling is precise and intuitive. Angles and dimensions are considered carefully across a range of sizes to maximize rider comfort. And more comfort means longer rides. In order to increase pedaling efficiency, the headtube, downtube, and chainstays of the Avant are shaped to resist twisting and transmit power to the rear wheel. The Orbea Monocoque Performance (OMP) materials add high modulus and high strength fibers to a standard layup to improve the frame’s stiffness-to-weight ratio. There is no doubt about it, large cross-sections and resistance to flex in the bottom of the frame translate directly to more watts on the road and a sensation that power transfer is instantaneous. The Avant fork uses a shallower, rounded-blade profile and longer fork legs to offer the best combination of elasticity, tire clearance, and torsional stiffness. The increased axle-to-crown height is offset by a shorter headtube to maintain stack measurements and improve aesthetics. Internal cable routing and flat mount disc brake complement the frame's clean lines, while the carefully chosen high-quality components will ensure you keep rolling hour after hour.

Electronic drivetrain systems deliver excellent shifting, easy set up, and solid battery life. Here are some benefits of electronic shifting that you don't want to miss.
Shifting Performance
Electronic shifting systems use powerful servo motors to rapidly shift the chain. Because microprocessors and sensors constantly monitor every aspect of the system, they shift with surgical precision and without chain rub.
Customization
Many major systems have customizable shifting. Some have the ability to add remote shifters for common riding positions, and some even allow you to change the functions of the shifting buttons.
Dependability
Electronic groupsets are responsive and consistent. There are no cables to stretch and wear out, so you get a flawless shift every time. The added bonus is you'll never have to replace a derailleur cable ever again.
